What is a DCP?
A Digital Cinema Package is the professional, high-resolution format used by movie theaters to play films. Think of it like a digital recipe that tells theater projectors exactly how to display your movie in the best possible quality. The DCP format ensures your film looks the same in every theater in the world.
Do I need a DCP?
If your film is screening in a movie theater or at a festival, you will likely need a DCP. The good news is a properly-made DCP works in digital theaters worldwide, so you only need to make it once.
Is a DCP a digital file or a physical hard drive?
The DCP itself is a digital file. Some venues want that file delivered digitally, while others require it copied to a properly formatted physical drive. We can help with either path.
What's the process?
We handle the heavy lifting. Send us your master file and we'll deliver a festival-ready DCP for download, or ship a hard drive if your screening requires one. We're registered with the InterSociety Digital Cinema Forum and build for global compatibility.
